Linda Monty
Michael Berry is one of the best personal fitness trainers I have ever encountered.  I worked in a fitness club for several years and have been training in gyms for close to twenty years so have come across my fair share of trainers.  He is extremely dedicated to your fitness goals, whatever they are.  He is very enthusiastic about training people and knowledgeable about all aspects of fitness, be it injury management, nutrition, motivation, or just the best methods to achieve your goals.  He is both encouraging and inspiring. He is a very energetic fitness nut (kind of like the Energizer Bunny!) as well as being a  nice guy!!  I train in a group with Michael.  We are of all ages and shapes and fitness levels, but he manages to tailor each workout to give every one of us a thorough workout at our own levels.  If you are looking for a fun, friendly, supportive group of people to workout with several times a week outdoors in Manly I simply cannot recommend Michael’s classes highly enough.  No stress about trying to get to the gym on time to get a spot in the class or hassle for the equipment in the weights room.  Exercising outdoors is very refreshing and a great stress release.  Another benefit I have found, as I was always getting sick when I used to do classes at the gym – as it is in the open air, you are not being exposed to all the cold/flu viruses when they are on the loose.  Also, as the way he operates is you book in and pay in advance for your classes, you are kind of making yourself go!  It is easier to let a gym membership slide, but because his classes are booked and paid for in advance, and he takes such an interest in your progress, then it is harder to slack off and stay at home on the sofa instead!!  Do not worry that you may not be able to keep up or aren’t fit enough to start, there are all types at his classes and it is a very supportive environment.

I was looking for a way to get fit that didn’t involve a gym or going it alone. I signed up for the outdoor group fitness classes being run by Michael Berry mainly because they offered a group training scenario and because they were offered outdoors.

It didn’t take long for me to realise that Michael offered something special in his classes. Not only was he motivating, patient and knowledgeable, he was also wise in the way he adapted exercises that suited the fitness levels of different members of the group. As a bonus, he would present pearls of wisdom that helped us in our lives beyond the scope of the classes. I would recommend Michael Berry to anyone seeking a motivating and extremely positive person to help them to dynamically and holistically live their life to the fullest.

Michael has trained me for the last three years and has taken me from not being able to run or walk up a hill due to my injury in the military, to being the fittest I have ever been. I owe so much to him and he acts as my fitness conscious even to this day. He has a great personality, massive experience in tailoring fitness to particular injuries/difficulties and a real ease about him. He can get you working hard whilst you are laughing. I found that he focused on fitness from a holistic point of view and helped to train the brain as well as body.
